How to post photos on Instagram from your desktop Mac?

Social media is an important way to interact these days, and we all know how popular it is to post on Instagram. If you are a Mac user, then you might be thinking about how to post photos on Instagram as there is no iPad application to do it directly. But thanks to Safari, now we can easily post the photos on Instagram directly on their mobile site by following these easy steps. To begin with, you are just required to shift user agent to iPhone in Safari.

Step 1:

There is a safari menu bar in the Safari. From the drop down menu, select preferences.

Step 2:

From the preference menu, go to the advanced section. From Advanced section, select the Show to develop a menu from the menu bar.

Step 3:

Further, a new develop menu will pop up in front of the screen. When you click on it, select user agent and change it to iPhone.

Now, to post photos on Instagram, from your Mac device, follow these steps.

Step 1:

Open up the Instagram page and log in to your account through safari.

Step 2:

A develop menu bar will pop up. From developing menu bar, select user agent, from the options, select ios-10 iPhone.

Step 3:

In order to make the browser look better over your mobile screen, resize it.

Step 4:

Now, we are a step closer towards our mission. You will be able to see the camera button right in the bottom toolbar.

Step 5:

There is a file selection popup. From here now you can select the file that you want to post on Instagram from your Mac.

Step 6:

You will be able to see a preview of your image on the screen. There is no option to edit the pictures here as there is no editing option as such. The only thing you can do is, you can rotate your picture square it out, or post it the way you want. Once, you are done with the picture, click on the Next option.

Step 7:

On the Next page, you will get to write the caption. Although, there is no option to tag people or places. There is no sharing option. Once you are done with the captioning part, you can click on the share, and your picture will be posted.


There is one more possible way out to post to Instagram from your Mac. In a technologically advanced world, there is an application for Mac called Flume. With the help of this application, one can view and post it on Instagram. So if you have multiple accounts or have to manage multiple business accounts, this beautiful app provides you with a flexible choice to post or view it on Instagram. There is a little price attached that you have to pay for the update of the Flume application. The amount is 10 dollars only for the updating purposes.
